I am very blessed to have such great sensei. Sensei Paul Enfield practiced with my late master Stan O'hara and through one of his students I discovered this dojo. Every student and instructor is a shining example of what makes karate-do beautiful. I am honored to call this my dojo. I highly recommend this dojo to anyone beginner or not to help them along the way.
My child has been going here for 2 years. She loves it, and we have seen the change in her confidence level and techniques. The Einfelds and all Senseis are amazing with children—they keep it fun but serious at the same time.
My son started here at Goju about 6-7 months ago... it has been such a wonderful experience! He is learning so much, Sensei Michelle might be his favorite person ever! All of the staff is extremely good with the little ones! Tiny Tigers was such a wonderful program to start out. Now, in Little Dragons, my 5 year old is a new kid! I cannot recommend this place more! Great place for all ages!
Went in for Friday morning class while in Carlsbad for vacation. Having a Goju Ryu background I was hoping to learn some new takes on techniques and get a workout. I wound up experiencing a new paradigm in Goju karate. Wow. Really good stuff.

I have been going to this dojo for about 4 years and I absolutely love it!! I am now a purple-brown belt and have the honor and privileged of helping out or "Senpai-ing" with some of the younger students. They have been very patient and kind to me while I am still learning how to do this! Sensei Paul and Sensei Michelle are some of the best instructors one can ask for. They instill courage, respect, focus, and discipline among many other things. If you are looking for a dojo in Carlsbad for your son or daughter, or simply for yourself; please try this one out because you will not leave
Without ego, I can say that this is a world class school. Fun, knowledgeable, caring, and zero politics. Just experienced karate and wonderful people. Their approach is a functional and disciplined based program as an education, not just a recreation.
